A Building Safety Case is the legal mechanism by which an accountable person demonstrates that their higher-risk residential building is safe to occupy.
Under the Building Safety Act 2022, accountable persons and principal accountable persons are required to hold, maintain, and be able to produce a Safety Case Report on request by the Building Safety Regulator. It is not a document you submit once and set aside. It is a living record and it needs to reflect the current state of your building at all times.
